We live in a much more environmentally conscious age and it’s crucial for everyone to try and do their bit to ensure the longevity of this planet.
Over the years we’ve been informed of many ways in which we can save energy and customers are now starting to explore more eco-friendly solutions than ever before. In recent years the market for eco-friendly smartphones has soared as users reveal a preference for mobile devices that keep Mother Nature firmly in mind so we’ve been inspired to look high and low to bring you the best eco-centric devices currently available on the market.

THE MICROSOFT LUMIA 550
The Lumia 550 may not be one of the most powerful or aesthetically pleasing handsets around but it does feature a number of notable eco-related features that give this phone a green status. It’s completely devoid of plastics (PVC), brominated flame retardants (BFRs) and nickel and it comes complete with typical energy saving features such as auto-screen brightness adjustment levels and a battery saving option.

BLACKBERRY CLASSIC NON CAMERA
Blackberry has endured some well documented struggles over the past few years but the firm’s best offering on our list manages to combine a number of special eco features that will keep even the most hardened Blackberry sceptic at length. The non- camera edition of the Blackberry Classic Q20 boasts UL Environment certified status and the handset is toxin-free and loaded with energy efficient software features.

iPHONE 6S
Apple may not on the face of things always appear to be the most environmentally sound brand but it may surprise you to discover that with each new mobile or tablet unveiling the company looks to implement more and more attractive eco-based features. The latest version of the iPhone comes complete with a recyclable enclosure and impressive power adaptor that reportedly outperforms the global standard and it’s beryllium and PVC free.

The result is a far more efficient phone that should last for hours longer and many fans have been applauding the result, non-more so than gamers. Whether it’s passing the time playing Angry Birds, Royal Vegas casino games or Mario Kart, users have already reported a 20%-30% battery improvement rate when compared to the last version of the handset.

NOKIA LUMIA 735
The mobile device that Nokia loves to describe as the “selfie smartphone” is also packed with an impressive line-up of environmentally friendly elements. Apart from being free of a number of hazardous and eco-harming materials such as PVC, BFR, Nickel and radiofrequency radiation (RFR) the Lumia 735 has also been manufactured with recycled metals and other bio plastics. To top it all off, Nokia’s offering even manages to come complete with 100% recoverable materials.
