28th March 2014
Top artists have created a series of posters to raise awareness about climate change and sustainability as part of a campaign by ‘Do the Green Thing’ and WWF-UK in the run up to Earth Hour this month.
The leading creatives, who include Sir Paul Smith, Sir Quentin Blake, David Shrigley, Neville Brody, Marion Deuchars, Rankin, Camilla Rutherford, Paula Scher, have designed a different poster released every day from March 1 until Earth Hour on March 29. Each of the posters aim to encourage millions of people around the world to take action against climate change through simple measures such as cycling to work or eating less meat.

Now in its eight year, Earth Hour has been described as “the world’s largest campaign for the planet”. Organised by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) it is an annual mass participation event to to show support for the environment.

Last year, more than 7000 cities, towns and municipalities in over 150 countries and territories turned out the lights in individual homes, businesses, and international landmarks as they participated in Earth Hour.

This year, people are being asked to switch off their lights for an hour at 8.30pm local time on March 29.
