Training GreenWire: Are you Green Deal ready?
BRE
21st September 2011
BRE is working with DECC and DCLG to contribute to the development of policy for the Green Deal.
Energy assessors will play a key role in delivering the
Green Deal and
BRE will be offering
qualifications and
certification for
Green Deal Advisors as well as the associated up-skilling of energy assessors that will be required in preparation. It is likely that courses for DEAs will be available in mid-January 2012 and qualifications for Green Deal advisors are expected in April 2012.
BRE Training director Chris Broadbent said: " BRE has been working towards Green Deal for some time and we look forward to the new business, training and certification opportunities that this will bring to many already working in energy assessment."
The Green Deal is intended to revolutionise the energy efficiency of British properties. The Government is establishing a framework to enable private firms to offer consumers energy efficiency improvements to their homes, community spaces and businesses at no upfront cost and to recoup the cost through instalments on their energy bill. It is likely to bring about many opportunities for those in the field.
