New compact scooter to target city commuter and businesses

A novel electric scooter that is launching on the UK market for the first time aims to provide a convenient, eco friendly and cheap transport solution for the city commuter and businesses.
TP Scoot, which is priced at just over £1000, has been available in Germany for nearly 10 years, but is being brought to the UK for the first time this month. The two-wheeler
urban electric vehicle has a similar classification to a 50cc petrol
scooter, but costs around one pence a mile to run and has a range of up to 20 miles and a top speed of 20 miles per hour. As well as its zero tailpipe emissions, low running cost and easy charging, its appeal to businesses is in its size and versatility, according to the company behind its UK launch.
"I like to describe it as the grown-up version of the kid’s micro scooter," said Rudi Schogger of the Electric Scooter Shop, which has sole distribution of the TP Scoot in the UK and Ireland. "It is compact enough to be stored in the corner of any hallway or reception, or folded down to be stored under a desk or in a car boot, making
transport completely door to door."
Business interestSchogger said the company was in discussions with organisations ranging from emergency services to estate and
facilities management companies and
small businesses. "One company talking to us is an antiques specialist looking to get its staff around to give valuations," he explains.
The TP Scoot is a fully TUV certified, electric urban vehicle that is road tax free. It is currently available as a 1000w model (Maximillian) or 500w model (Ferdinand). Prices start at £1250.
Schogger said the TP Scoot was currently only available in the UK to buy, but could become available as a rental product should interested distributors come forward with a proposal.
