Miliband to make keynote address at Environment Agency conference

Ed Miliband, Secretary of State at the new Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), has been confirmed as the keynote speaker at the Environment Agency’s annual conference to be held later this month.
Miliband who took up his new role at the newly-created DECC only last month, will join Hilary Benn, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, who will also be speaking at the two-day event taking place in London from November 24 to 25.  Miliband will make the keynote address on the second morning of the conference on November 25.

Environmental Futures 08: Creating The Climate For Change will be held at QE ll Conference Centre in London and aims to bring leaders in government, business, investment and environment together to discuss their roles in adapting to climate change and working towards a low carbon economy.

Other confirmed speakers include Stavros Dimas, European Commissioner for the Environment, Nick Robins, head of Climate Change Centre of Excellence, HSBC and Richard Gillies, director of Plan A, Marks and Spencer.
