GreenWise says get nominating as it backs PEAB Award

GreenWise is encouraging individuals and firms to nominate the innovators in green business practice as it announces it is sponsoring one of the 14 categories in the inaugural People and Environment Achievement Business (PEAB) Awards.

PEAB Awards in association with
Lloyds TSB Commercial have been launched to honour the teams and individuals who are driving new, sustainable models of business across different sectors and
business operations.
GreenWise is sponsoring the
PEAB Environment Manager Award and is calling on businesses and organisations who are achieving excellence and
innovation in environmental management – or know of others that are –to come forward.
Rewarding excellence
Alongside the Environment Manager Award, the PEABs will reward excellence at the very top of an organisation right through to smaller enterprise and across sectors ranging from construction, retail and
finance. They will be judged by an eminent panel of environmentalists, entrepreneurs and green business professionals, including
Dragon’s Den investor Deborah Meaden, environmental campaigner Tony Juniper and Leo Johnson, head of sustainability at PricewaterhouseCoopers (chair of judging panel).
"The vision for the PEAB, a green carpet awards that honour and celebrate business people who are stepping out of their comfort zones to lead sustainability initiatives in business at all levels is a key reason for us partnering on this event," GreenWise head of interactive marketing Stephen Bateman, said. "We were also motivated by the association of Lloyds TSB Commercial, as lead sponsor, an organisation that is investing in promoting and supporting small companies in the UK, which is also our mantra.
"Thirdly, we want to play our part in the digital media communications arena to drive quality nominations from within the UK SME sector."
The PEAB are being organised by King Lion Media, which last year hosted the PEA awards to recognise individual achievement and the environment.
Nominations deadline
Nominations for the PEAB Awards are open until January 3 2012 and are free to enter. Winners will be celebrated on January 26 2012 at the Orangery at Kensington Palace, London.
