GreenWise launches environmental resource for UK businesses
Greenwise Staff
2nd February 2010
GreenWise has launched a business resource section offering in-depth advice and guidance on the major environmental and sustainable issues UK businesses need to be informed about.
Wise Up launches today with two major guides to help
businesses better prepare for a
low carbon economy.
‘Funding For Businesses Looking To Reduce Their Environmental Impact’ is the first in a major ‘Grants & Funding’ series of guides that will be published on
Wise Up over the coming months. The guides will explain the many funding schemes – national and local, sector-specific and business wide – and how to access them.
The second guide launching today – ‘Emissions Monitoring and Reporting’ – explains in clear English the different carbon reporting schemes affecting UK businesses and what companies need to do to meet carbon emissions regulations. The
Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency Scheme, the UK cap and trade scheme for non-energy intensive businesses launching in April, is one of the schemes we examine.
Launching at the same time is
Wise Words, a collection of shorter articles run in association with industry partners offering tips and advice on how to make your business greener.
Wise Words kicks off with four articles published in association with Envirowise, the Government-backed programme for sustainable business. The articles include '
How To Get Started With Environmental Improvements', '
How To Get Your Employees Involved In Resource Efficiency', '
How To Improve Water Efficiency' and '
How To Implement Eco Design’.
“We have spent several months planning
Wise Up and we hope our readers find this business resource useful,” said
GreenWise editor Louise Bateman. "As well as the latest green business news and information,
GreenWise now offers
green business guidance and advice in one place through
Wise Up."
“Many businesses want to be greener and cut costs through resource and energy efficiencies, but they often don’t know where to start and how to manage that process," continued Bateman. "There is a lot of information and support out there but it's not always easy to find. Our business resource aims to provide much of that guidance in one place and signpost businesses to where they can get further help."
Bateman said
GreenWise would build and grow
Wise Up over the coming months with more guides and supporting content as well as "other exciting developments" in the pipeline.
