Environmental consultancy RSK Group has launched a graduate training scheme to attract new talent to the company and improve skills in a sector that is expected to help create the green jobs of the future.
Cheshire-based
RSK Group, which is the UK’s largest privately owned environmental consultancy, said the g
raduate training scheme would also support the environmental consultancy sector in the
northwest.
The scheme, which will run over six months, will train up 14 graduates in both commercial and managerial aspects of environmental consultancy initially in the company’s Helsby headquarters. The scheme may be extended to other RSK offices in the future, and graduates that “impress” the company may get a
job at the end of training.
“There are a lot of graduates out there who have really good degrees, but just can’t get a job due to the climate, so we thought this would be a great opportunity for them to get six months’ experience and gain valuable skills,” said RSK Group chairman Alan Ryder.
“There’s no guarantee that graduates will get a job with us at the end of the course, but we will still have provided them with valuable experience and they may be able to come back to us in the future should a vacancy arise.”
RSK said graduates would gain hands-on experience of the systems and mechanics of environmental consultancy through rotational placements across a variety of RSK Group teams. Graduates will also undergo related examination and workshop-led assignments.
“This is a great scheme that will give graduates a solid grounding in the fundamentals of environmental consultancy and boost their future prospects of full-time employment,” commented RSK Group HR manager Zoe Lloyd.
RSK Group is one of Europe’s fastest growing environmental consultancies and has offices in the UK and Europe and in the Gulf and Caspian regions.
